Rocky Mountain Ski and Board was founded 40 years ago in 1972. From small beginnings we have grown into one of the largest ski & snowboard shops in the USA and the largest in the South.
The basis for our success has always been the customer. To that end we thoroughly train every employee so that each and every customer gets someone that can actually help them make their ski or board vacation that much better. Every employee is trained to treat every customer as if they were your father, mother, brother or sister. We want to help our customers have a great vacation even if that means suggesting that you borrow a jacket from a friend, purchase a jacket that can be used for Atlanta temperatures, or rent skis or snowboards from the resort you are visiting.
Rocky Mountain Ski and Board opens about October 15th every season
Monday - Friday 10-7pm, Saturday 10-6pm & Sunday 12-6pm.
We close the first Sunday in April.
We carry some of the most famous brand names available as well as lesser known brands that our buyers think are a great value.
Something we are very proud of is our building which was built with skiers and boarders in mind. We brought in timber logs from Montana to build many of the support beams both inside and out. We have a huge collection of antique skis, boots, poles, sleds and other winter related items displayed throughout the store. We have on display an Appalachian ski lift chair and a gondola from Vail Mountain. We have a 15 foot wide fireplace with lounging chairs for your comfort.
Downstairs houses the huge equipment area, the service center as well as the men’s clothing area.
Upstairs we have a separate kids area with their own entertainment so mom can shop and not worry about their kid’s safety. Upstairs you will also find the finest women’s clothing department anywhere as well as a separate ladies’ boutique with today’s finest ski and board fashions.
Overall, Rocky Mountain Ski and Board covers close to 15,000 square feet of paradise for the skier or boarder. When new customers walk in our door for the first time we often hear remarks like, “Now this is a ski shop!” We hope you will agree.
